What is the standard equipment for women’s lacrosse?
This is my first year playing and I need to know what kind of gear and what not that I need to buy. I know you need a stick of course, but as far as protective gear or even what kinda of cleats, I have absolutely no clue.
It’s high school level, if that’s important, and once again it’s girl’s.
Oh, and if it’s not to much to ask, what are the uniforms like? Field hockey skirts, or more of softball like shorts?
Thanks in advance! [=

eye gear- mine is STX brand and they are awesome
stick- if you didnt already get one, get a debeer one, their GREAT. all 4 of my sticks are debeer and i love them all
mouth gaurd- just pick one up at dicks
a bag- but you dont really NEED one
also gloves if youd like, i wear them because i always get checked in the hand
cleats- they sell lax ones but if you already have soccor ones thats fine
as far as the uniforms go sometimes they are skirts and sometimes shorts… they vary … so yea hope this helped . and for the record ive been playing for 7 years:)
- soccer cleats are perfect…you don’t need special ones.
-youll also need a colored mouthgaurd…clear ones arn’t legal
- an eyegaurd.. go on the debeer or brine website…they should have some.
* some people like to play in lacrosse gloves (they have a little padding on them)…personally i don’t play with them b/c i can’t grip my stick as well but sometimes i wish i had them when it gets cold.
Traditionally, you have to wear skirts like field hockey but some teams wear shorts. Really depends on your team.
Do NOT buy soccer cleats. Most high school leagues will not let you wear them. Buy football cleats. It sounds stupid, but they offer ankle protection, which you need since broken ankles are very common in lacrosse.
Buy a colored mouth guard, clear ones are not legal.
Get lacrosse goggles, Brine is good.
You will probably be wearing the field hockey-ish skirts, which are called kilts.
Good luck, and have fun!
